3 Easy Sleep Hacks
Another night of no sleep? You’re not alone, and you’re definitely not the first to feel the exhaustion that comes with having a baby. Sleep deprivation is one of the toughest parts of new parenthood, but hang on in there – it won’t last forever. In the meantime, here are some energy-saving hacks to help you survive those sleepless nights and make the most of your rest when you can get it.

1. Sleep When Your Baby Sleeps
Yes, we know you’ve heard this a hundred times before, but trust us, it’s worth repeating. Turn off your phone, forget about the laundry or the dishes, and get some much-needed shut-eye while your baby is napping. Taking advantage of those quiet moments when your little one is asleep can help you regain your energy, even if it’s just for a short time.
2. Take Turns Sleeping
If you have a partner, make sure you share the night-time load. Take turns with feeding, nappy changes and taking care of the baby, so each of you gets a chance to catch up on sleep. Whether it’s alternating who gets the early shift or taking naps during the day, splitting the night-time duties can make a big difference in how much rest you both get.
3. Make Time to Recharge Yourself
Parenting is a full-time job, but even superheroes need breaks. Whenever possible, carve out a few moments just for you – whether that’s a relaxing shower, a short walk outside or sitting down with a cup of coffee in peace. It’s not selfish to prioritise yourself – it’s necessary. A well-rested, recharged parent is better equipped to care for their little one.
Remember, you’re doing an amazing job, and it’s okay to feel tired. These simple strategies can help you cope with sleep deprivation while you ride out the beautiful rollercoaster of new parenthood. You’ve got this!
